Sandra Bullock!...Why didn't you say that earlier? Ok, so chick flick with with more love, less blood and Sandra Bullock...hands down would have to be Speed!

Julia Roberts movie would have to be Ocean's 11

This is a great discussion Joanne...I love these chick flicks!

Chick flick? I don't even know. Door To Door, although I'm not sure that qualifies as a chick flick.

We just watched it!! It was great! Funny and entertaining!

yeah, i'll second brad, if it comes to a sandra bullock movie, it would have to be speed, or maybe even speed 2: cruise control. those are two very good chick flicks, and if we're going to talk about julia roberts, then i think we'd go with charlotte's web (the new version, she was the voice of charlotte) it was truly moving.

i'm not even sure door to door is a movie. you just made that up!

Well guys, I am so glad that I started this discussion and that you have enjoyed mocking me in this process....however, I will be the bigger person and move beyond the jocularity and make a few suggestions for comment. I realise that this may be inviting more ridicule...but hey, it will keep us all amused.

So - in the chick flick department allow me (and the girls in my office who I just polled for suggestions) to recommend - 2 Weeks Notice, While You Were Sleeping, Just Like Heaven, Pride and Prejudice (either version - though I am a particular fan of the BBC version, though it may be too long to be considered 'a movie'), Say Anything, The Holiday, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, The Notebook, 27 Dresses, August Rush, Pretty Woman, Best Friends Wedding, Return to Me....and that is just for starters.

If you haven't had the veiwing pleasure of a few of these titles, I highly recommend you round out your movie menu...and get amongst it!!

ahh yes...I know those movies. I usually try to avoid them due to their high content of adulteress relationships, marriage breakdowns, promotion of prostitution, and all around worldliness. But I guess if you like that kind of thing...then yeah...you might like them... :)

Ouch....If I had to choose a chick movie I personally like spanglish, it is funny... August Rush was great too... Who doesn't like child prodigies and unrealistic love stories!!!!

I see, and murder, mayhem and gratutious violence are ok?? And I must say, you are quite knowledgeable on the content of some of the films, which implies to me that you have also seen them....so obviously you haven't tried too hard to avoid them:).

Ahh there's your problem. The reason you "see, and murder, mayhem and gratuitous violence" is because you have not watched enough of it. If you watched it a bit more then you would become desensitized and it would all just disappear leaving behind a beautiful Chick Flick.

I maybe going to see another promising Chick Flick tonight...The Incredible Hulk...that stars Liv Tyler...a chick...

I think I may just leave you to your delusion.....

that is a great chick flick brad! it really is . . . and i like your theories behind what makes a chick flick.
