YWAM - Australia Reef to Outback

with the olympics being over halfway done, it'd be great to hear about some of your favorite olympic moments. what are some overrated moments or athletes or events, and finally what olympic events would you like to see removed or added to the great athletic event known as the olympics.

answer one or answer all, but feel free to sound off.

Mr Bolt rules ! He only just started running in the 100M a year or two ago. In the final he figured he had won after 75 metres so jogged the rest of the way and still smashed the world record! Can't wait to see him destroy everyone in the 200M

synchronized swimming is like the participation award for those swimmers who didn't make the qualifying times for the real swimming events..... i mean they should add something to it to make it more appealing... like say put a shark in the water and the country that finishes the routine with most of the team still there wins.... now that is some good Olympics.

benjamin magee, that is what i'm talking about! they could call it the EXTREME OLYMPICS! (not to be confused with the already established x-games because those aren't as extreme as shark synchronized swimming!) and for archery, they could get robotic animals to run around with targets on them and they would actually attack the athletes. ( i made the animals robotic because PETA would get all upset if they were shooting real cheetahs, bears, and lions) but they robot animals would be just as vicious and the athletes would have to run. it would add a whole new dimension of athleticism to the archery competition.

Could you arm the clay pidgeons with daisy cutters ?

i think the rings in gymnastics is amazing to watch, mainly because it takes so much body control to do well.
oh and today, the chinese hurdler dropped out of the race, but even with swelling he was going to run. that's impressive.

I would like to say that swimming is overrated!!! Oh wait we have Phelps....nevermind....swimming is amazing. He has to be a highlight. I swear there is something wrong with him. Maybe its his 6'7" arm span...or that fact that he is a rocket in the water. When thinking about it though. The relay where the US beat France by a hair was amazing. Jason Lezak is phenomenal!!! Without him we would be no where in the relay!!! Oh that was an exciting night!!!

everyone chant along: MICHAEL PHELPS! MICHAEL PHELPS! MICHAEL PHELPS!

(it helps if you raise on fist and pump it every syllable!)

I like watching the highlights of the weightlifters who tried but couldn't because their joints... well... fell out of joint. Some of them have REALLY high cringe factors.

I say highlights because here in california we never get to see the games live. they're live in new york, but tape delayed for prime time here in cali. bummer.

exxxcusee me.... i will passionately, whole heartedly defend the olympian synchonize swimmers!!! if you ask me, i'd like to see claypool and magee artistically and gracefully maneuver in water while holding your breathe... then... THEN... you can talk about the sharks...
