- I was born in England but have lived in the Netherlands for most of my life. I finished my study about a year ago and have worked as a social worker with people with an addiction and psychiatric disorder. Lots of fun!!
Back at home I go to a Vineyard church and I'm involved in the youth work. Great to see young people learning about Jesus and living life with him!
I'm really excited to be in Australia... never been outside of Europe... this is quite different! Can't wait to see what God has planned for all of us... It's gonna be awesome :P :D

Only a couple of days before outreach
First of all: camping was great!
The first couple of days were very wet - and rain while you're camping also gives mud, mess and stinky wet clothes - not so great, I must admit. It also suddenly hit me we would be sharing a tent with 4 people for 2 whole weeks! But after I got used to that idea and it stopped raining all day long, I had the most amazing time up at Hidden Valley.

Camping... how many suitcases can you fit in a tent?!!??
It does feel weird though to have to pack up all our stuff and clean out the houses. But the oktober DTS will be coming back to base for graduation and they'll all need a place to stay :)

Three weeks & counting
First of all: the house I'm staying is great. I'm sharing a bedroom with 3 other girls and we get along very well. This really is a blessing! And we've actually got a swimmingpool in the garden... sounds good doesn't it :)

Als ik het goed begrepen heb zit je nu in je outreach. We hopen en bidden dat je een super tijd met God hebt en dat je als lichtdragertje mag zijn voor velen deze outreach. Heeft God al wat duidelijker tot je gesproken over je vervolg?

Vandaag was onze laatste Ministry ..ding. Ik weet wat je bedoelt met Nederlands.. :S Het lijkt wel alsof mijn mond helemaal aan de klanken moet wennen enzo. Weird as.
Camping is geweldig :) Vooral achteraf als je de slechte dingen niet onthoud.. maar jullie zullen het ietsje beter hebben omdat er geen marchflies horen te zijn. Ze waren overal toen wij gingen.. paardenvlieg. Ze boren een gat als ze bijten en dan bloed je en het doet pijn als een gek. Maar hopelijk gebeurd dat jullie niet :)
We hebben eindelijk weer airco, wat een luxe :D
I´m glad to hear that you will come to Mt Isa on your Outreach. I´m in charge to plan auslifes for your Team, so hopefully we get some good feedback from the schools that we´re allowed to do it. I´m working as a staff since last year october and did me dts last january with buddy, naomi...as schoolleaders. So when do you go camping with your dts?

Ik zit idd in Thailand.. laatste onderdeel van onze outreach alweer :O Tijd vliegt, idioot haast. We zijn in Pattaya aangekomen, vanochtend om 05:30 en om 9 uur begon de drukte. We werken hier vooral tussen de seksindustrie en de slum ministries. Vanmiddag heb ik met een vriendin engels lesgegeven aan 3 meiden. Na de les gingen ze weg naar hun werk.. the beach and the bar. I can't wrap my head around the fact that they're actually working in the sex industry..
We zijn hier 10 dagen en dan is Outreach over en begint het einde. :S Weird as..
Mij zie je hoogst waarschijnlijk niet, tijdens onze graduation week zijn jullie aan het kamperen, als het goed is. Anders passen we allemaal niet op base. Een ander team heb je als het goed is al (een paar keer?) ontmoet. Maar ik vertrek de eerste dag na Grad, anderen blijven wat langer, dus misschien dat je die ziet?
Weet je je Outreach plek al? Voor je het weet zit je er ;). Sort of..
hoe is het daar? Ben je al weer een beetje aan de gang geslagen want voor een beetje lummelen hoef je echt niet zo ver bij mij vandaan te gaan hoor. Ik lummel namelijk graag met je. Hier is het koud en nat en nog altijd even grijs.
Ik ben wel blij om te horen dat je daar weer aangekomen bent en ik de lucht zit. Heb je daar ook de mogelijkheid om zelf mail te ontvangen dat buiten deze website. Ik vind het wel leuk dat dit kan. Ik heb net mijn boekhouding van 2008 afgemaakt en dat was weer een hele klus. Dat ga ik nog even controleren en dan een filmpje kijken en alweeeeeeeer strijken. phfuuuu.
Effe snell een krabbel wat we moeten weg. Hoe was de reis !!!! Goed te horen dat je begint te wennen,,,, mailen auw weer kiizz Joan,,,,,,
