Today is Mother's Day! Today is a very different day for me. This past December, my amazing Mom passed away. There is such peace in knowing she is with our Lord. Today, I find myself really reflecting on the past years. Have you ever noticed the trees after the leaves fall? They are bare--stripped naked. Not really very attractive. There was a student from Thailand that came to stay with us in Calgary, in the middle of winter, a few years ago. As the young girl was riding in the car from the airport, she was rather shocked. She asked what horrible thing had happened, that had killed all of our trees!

But the neat thing is, that these rather 'dead' looking trees actually hold amazing potential. They will burst… Continue

Ah....Fall is one of my favourite seasons. There is a change in the crispness of the air and the colour of our world. Although I miss the many colours of the maple trees down east, there is much to be said of the stark yellows against the greens here in Calgary. The air smells different too--I think it is the leaves. This season makes you want to curl up by the fire with a good book while indulging in hot chocolate and goodies.

We just got back from a week at Greenbay Bible Camp in Kelowna, B.C. Canada. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, but that did not stop us from having a great time. There were several other Church family friends there, which meant tons of laughing and craziness. Also, volleyball tournaments, early morning jogs (ugh!), swimming, blobbing (bet you don't know what that is), evening houseboat tours, skit nights, campfires and my favourite, the worship/God-talks.
