We have had such a good second week in Geelong, we spoke in many more schools and churches in the area and continued to see God opening doors for us all over. The students have had the chance to share more and more about their experience in Papua New Guinea, DTS and their outreach so far.
We had an amazing opportunity to share with the 1st and 2nd year Medical Students at the University in Geelong where we were about the share with them all about what the ship is going to be

We have had an INCREDIBLE gift from God this week to be in 3 different public schools in Nowra for almost every class ( 5 to 6 ) that entire week. So to maximize this cool opportunity We split into 2 different teams to cover more schools/classes a day.
Its so cool to be able to share the gospel in public schools while sharing the theme of the ship tour " I want to live " with young aussies.
On our last day we even had both teams together and the local christian radio station 94.1 c…

So, after a great second week of outreach in the city of Canberra, we have now driven even further south and are in a town on the south coast of Australia, Geelong.
Our second week in Canberra was very much the same as the first, we spent a lot of time waiting on God for strategy of what we should do each day as we went out into the city to meet people. We managed to get involved with a few groups, spent some time at Parlament house, joined in with Youth in the City, a drop

Hey so we are at the end of out first week of outreach in Australia, and what a week it has been! We started off by saying a sad goodbye to the other teams as they left Canberra to head out to their outreach locations. Not long after all the teams had left, we spied a suitcase and sleeping bag that looked suspiciously like someone from another team.....after further investigation we discovered that it was Hannah's and she was happily in the van on her way to Sydney without any of her belongings!…

Our school leader Buddy read this to us at the end of lectures today. It was written at a 24/7 payer movement in england i think.
He read this out to us, the goal being to challeng us to live our lives like this ( why cant this be us? ). to be radically changed to never look back. To actually live out what we have been learning over there last few weeks
And this is how it goes...
So this guy comes up to me and says, "What's the vision? What's the big idea?"
I open my mouth and words come…

A couple posts ago we mentioned about the really exciting opportunity we have to reach out to the youth in Townsville through a program called "Youthstreet"
Well since we have been here, we not only have had the chance to reach out to the youth here that way. But we have had the privilege recently to help out with a city wide skate/bmx/scooter competition/music festival called
"Against the Grind" that people from our base and the Townsville City Council started up!
It was such an exciting thin…

We as a DTS went out recently to Townsvilles Billabong Sanctuary!
For those of you who dont know what that is, its a wildlife sanctuary located right outside of townsville where you can really get hands on interaction with authentic aussie animals like koalas, wombats, snakes, and crocs!
We had TONS of fun, and some of the students even overcame their fear of snakes....kind of...but dont take MY word for it. check out the photos!!
( for more photos check out our main page! )…

"Even in the short time that I've been at Reef to Outback, I have been challenged in my faith in a significant way. I have built great relationships with team mates and shared great experiences.
The lecture times have blown me away...Im learning alot about myself, about God and about our relationship. And I look forward…

Well... We can all breath a sigh of relief... Or let out a shout of terror. Either option you choose, There is no denying that the day has finally arrived!
This could be the day some of us have been waiting to happen for years and never thought it would come. or its the day that has been in the works for a mere number of days after a last minute decision and step of faith. Whatever day it is. its finally here.
The day everyone is finally gathered in one room. Different places in their hearts an…

The October 2009 Staff training is in full swing and after 2 weeks of hard work finishing Cert IV, binding journals and workbooks, putting together welcome packs, and stocking our brains with useful information. our dreams, prayers and hard work are finally unfolding before our eyes and becoming reality. as students of the October DTS are slowly trickling in.
Our first student arrived yesterday and it marked the moment the DTS became a little more real to those of us on staff. There is always a…

2009.
The last year, of the first decade, of the 21st century.
When you look back and reflect on the last ten years of your life, where you have been, what you have accomplished, hopefully you can sit back and say that "I took advantage of every opportunity that came my way".
Well, as this decade closes I am beginning to think of what the next decade will hold. What adventures are in store? What will the good times be? And the bad times? What will I do with my life to make a difference? To br…

It was like looking into a postcard every morning. I can't even begin to explain the beauty of this land. It was breath-taking. Our team arrived on Palm Island three days late. We were supposed to leave Monday, but actually got there on Thursday. No worries though! We had two amazing weeks working with the indigenous children on the island.
Everyday, we would head over to the PCYC with Solate or "Miss", as we learn to call her, and play with the kids from 11am till 5pm. It was so amazing to see…

The DTS just got back from two glorious weeks of camping in the Australian rainforest. We encountered many 'dangerous' creatures, from the cicada spit to the deep dwelling river creatures. But we would let nothing get in our way from the one reason we were out there. To encounter Jesus!
The first week of camping various RTO staff were able to share on topics that range from a lifestyle of prayer, stewardship, relationships, the power of the tongue, and valuing the individual. We had some really…

Oi! Oi! Oi!
It's so great to immerse yourself in another culture. To learn new things and experience new foods. One of the 'new' things the DTS has experienced here in Australia is the wonderful game of rugby. What better way to learn a new game then to see it played first hand at the R…
