Saturday was my first trip to the strand, which is the local beach. It's about a 45 min-an hour walk, so i've heard, but a few girls and myself took a taxi. They have a rock pool, which is where we'll need to swim once jellyfish season starts. The rock pool is man-made, so it's not exactly like swimming in the ocean, but I like it because you don't have to worry about all the creatures. So we went swimming then went for a walk down the rest of the strand, and into town a little bit. Sat night was the first night of youth street. I'm on a team for youth street live, so instead of doing teams during the day, we all hang out with the teens at night. I hung out and played vball and bball with some of the crew(teens that come). It was fun, but a looong night. Sunday was a relax/hang out kind of day, but it was nice to slow down and rest for a day. Today we were back in the swing of things with lectures, work duties, and worship. Lectures today were great...the base director spoke about having a clear conscience, and will speak about it for the rest of the week. Looking forward to hearing more! I also went to McDonalds last night with about 7 of us, and it ended up being a great time to talk and catch up with some people, and I had a really encouraging conversation with another girl on my dts. I'm
trying to get up at 5:30 to run every morning(Shocking, i know) with another girl, and then do the mandatory morning exercise at 6. Needless to say, it's a really long day and I'm really tired by dinner, but it's good to get up everyday and be more awake for lectures. Tired now so that's gonna be it for this entry. Until next time!
