YWAM - Australia Reef to Outback

This past week of lectures was crazy!! The director of our base spoke about having a clear conscience. His talks were soo good! I felt like I learned a lot about God and His purposes for us, as well as how to bring things out into the open so you can begin healing. This week seemed to go by faster than the last one, but I hope it slows down a bit. We had our first outreach prep on tues. They started by giving us a packing list, and telling us we had 15 min to go to our rooms, pack everything, then load it into the van. We had no idea what was going on! For a minute I thought they were really going to load us up for a trip! But it turned out to be an exercise in working together and to see if anyone helped each other out. We came back to the warehouse and did more team-building activities, like trying to lower a pole to the ground with everyone just using their finger tips, and trying to get everyone to move from one side of a tarp to the other without their feet hitting the carpet. We definitely got to see who were leaders, and who the more quiet people were. We basically talked about being a team and how people react differently in certain situations. The end of the prep was my favorite, because I had my first tim tam slam. Basically it's the best snack EVER, and I'm not exaggerating! You take a tim tam cookie(chocolate on the outside with a wafer and choco. icing on the inside) then bite off a bottom corner and a top corner. Then you take the cookie and dip it into hot choc. or coffee( we did hot choc) Then you use the cookie like a straw, and as soon as the liquid reaches your mouth, you have to get the cookie inside of your mouth. If you're really good at it, you can get the cookie into your mouth without using your hands. You have to get it into your mouth quickly though, because the cookie dissolves really fast. It is a melty delicious mess! Right now I am avoiding doing my workbook, so I should probably get back to that. Tomorrow is Against the Grind, a big event that youth street is having where kids can come skate, and there are live bands and tents set up. Should be a fun afternoon. Monday we start new lectures about identity. That's it for now. Comment so I know people are reading this!
