Hey everyone!
Well, I've officially been here a week( well, technically in two hours it will be a week), and so far I love it! It has exceeded my expectaions of what it would be like here. The first few days we had a lot of free time, but we are now in the full swing of things with our schedule. I had a great time this past week getting to know everyone(there are 37 of us in the october dts) and really like the group of people i will be here with.
On thursday we started our weekly schedule for the lecture phase. Everyone has different work duties that they will do during the week. My work duty is Mum's Helper. Basically I help out the mom's on base to do whatever they need, whether it's cleaning or watching the kids. I'll do that for 2-3 hours everyday. The mornings and nights during the week vary. Some mornings we have prayer or worship as a base, and other mornings we'll do worship or a review as a school.During lectures, a different person comes in to speak. The speakers are staff or guest speakers. We had our first 2 days of lectures on thur and fri, and they were really good, so I'm looking forward to more!
Othewise I've been spending time playing volleyball, finding random people's guitars to play, and trying to get to know everyone. There's also a small pool on base that I've been to a few times. Which is good, because it is really hot, and only going to get hotter! G'day until next time!
